The optical transport of cold atoms results in approximately 57 quasi-2D pancakes with random phases due to individual collision thermalization. The atoms are further transferred and held in a dipole trap, during which Bose–Einstein condensation emerges through an interaction-driven phase-synchronization process. A degenerate gas of 1×105 atoms with a 40% condensate fraction emerges within 300ms. The figure below shows the rapid formation of BEC condasation. For details, see our preprint arXiv.2602.14249.
